2006] New Update:
Method Man is back! The one and
only Johnny Blaze has been given an August 22nd release date for
his new album, 4:21 ...The Day After. The album will be released
through Def Jam, and features the current single, "Say" with
Lauryn Hill.
Method Man recorded much of the album at the famed Electric Lady
Studios in Manhattan. Electric Lady studios got its name from
legendary musician Jimi Hendrix, and Method Man aimed to capture
some of that magic in his own music. Perhaps the venue may
surprise some, but that's what Meth has been doing his whole
career, as he continues to break any boxes in which fans, or the
media, attempt to place him in.
Method Man has turned his attention and priorities towards
lyrical content for this album, and drew from some rough life
experiences to make this music. He said, "I had a lot on my mind
at the time and the second thing was, I decided to really talk
about something and I had a lot to draw from and when the pen
hit the paper it was like damn, remember this? And by the time I
was done it was like s**t, let's go." |
 |
Method Man went with Rza, Havoc, K1, Erik Sermon, and Scott
Storch on the production tip to put music to his words. It was
in fact Erik Sermon who provided the beat for "Say," Method
Man's new single with Lauryn Hill. I've been venting about all
this for years and [my manager] was like, 'Write about it, Eric
has the perfect joint.' And, Lauryn Hill herself, she just had
the raw emotion, the small things she said on the song was
enough for me to push my pen and let myself be vulnerable."
The theme of vulnerability and openness is one that fans can
expect to be present throughout the album, and is also present
in the title. "The national weed smoking day is 4/20, so I named
my album 4/21 the day after. Because after that day, you have
this moment of clarity when you're not high and you see things
clearly."
He also says he didn't feel as if he was being taken seriously,
and that this record is an answer to that. "You feel like you're
not in on the joke, and everyone's laughing at you. I felt like
no one was taking me seriously. I got real angry and I just
starting writing."
Method Man finished recording the album in a few months, and is
looking forward to sharing it with the public. The emcee also
appears to have enjoyed the process of making this record, and
acknowledges what the writing and recording process did for his
own self-image.
"It's real talk, I'm going to keep my spirits up and not let it
get to me. You know, if you start reading your own press and
feeding into it, and you start questioning yourself, like, 'am I
wack?' and you have to be like, 'No!' I learned to pat myself on
the back, and that it's ok to pat myself on the back sometimes."

Operation
Takeover
Da Monstar Mob, as a collective of
ill emcees in the Los Angeles area, has provided fertile
ground for many talented artists. Always under the expert
direction of the genius producer Skarekrow, DMM has indeed
made a name for themselves in the West Coast Underground of
Hip-Hop. If you liked Nightmare Before X-Mas you will
definitely love this righteous journey through some of the
most horrifying and grimey tapestries ever heard by human (or perhaps some non-human) ears.
The living, the dead, as well as the undead all agree that |
this album is filled with both street knowledge, philosophy, and don't
forget, some good old gutter brutality. All the emcees on
this album rip the tracks from "knowledge to born", the
listener will be left awestruck, and possibly transformed by
this music. For instance, fans of Holocaust/Warcloud will of
course be impressed with his verses here, but even more
stunned that the rest of these emcees are just as ill on the
mic! This album features Da Monstar Mob {(Skarekrow, Mantra,
Leviathan, Warcloud, Onslawt (Black Sun)} as well as The
Massive Crew Known as The Navigators {Skarekrow, Huesane the
General, Ali, I-Kill the Architect, Ammo, Ron Dough aka Gut
Man Mo, Sabotage, and the whole Moorish Nation} Together,
these crews formed "The Heaven and Earth Society". Created,
Produced, Arranged (1998-1999) by Skarekrow.
Album is
exclusively released and sold at
Chambermusik.
Track Listing:
1) Intro

|
Warcloud aka Holocaust: The Death
Coast LP |
|

|
The return of West Coast Wu-Tang Clan
Killa Bee and Black Knights member Warcloud as Da Holocaust
has been causing quite a buzz on the net for a hot minute
now.
Officially re-releasing the
remastered versions of the highly sort after albums "Smugglin'
Booze in the Graveyard" and "Nightmares
that Surface from Shallow Sleep" a couple
of months ago via Chambermusik, The Holocaust, has
resurfaced to drop his official debut album "The Deaths
Coast LP" accompanied by production duo, Blue Sky Black
Death (Mush Records). This fourteen track debut is inspired
by the early Wu-Tang style, though it showcases a unique and
raw sound unfound in today's hip hop music. Blue Sky Black
Death provide dark cinematic soundscapes as the back drop to
The Holocaust's diabolic verses. Manically shifting from
haunting imagery and fragmented tales, to the most savage
and vicious of battle raps ever conceived. This weeks track
currently played on our site "I Catch Fire" is just a sample
of what's to come, the song "Crash" will be played at the
weekend, and judging from songs already heard from
the dynamic collaboration of Holocaust and Blue Sky
Black Death, It is safe to say the world aint ready for
another Holocaust!! |

Chef Raekwon Officially Aftermath
?!
According to Raekwons people we can officially confirm that Chef
Raekwon has inked a deal with Dr. Dres Aftermath Entertainment.
While details are still sketchy, we can confirm that the papers were
signed last week.
It was already known that Dr. Dre and Raekwon had worked together on
the highly anticipated "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" project, an
initiative of Busta Rhymes who is also an Executive Producer of the
record with RZA.
"Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II" will be a co-production between
Aftermath and Wu-Tang. Whether this is the Wu Music Group or Wu-Tang
Productions is not known yet.
RZA has yet to confirm the rest of the details.

Napalm Recordings Presents The P.R. Terrorist
- 4 Security Reason |
|
In correction to news reported yesterday,
the new project from Dom Pachino is not the Rice & Beans project
but rather it is a project under under P.R. Terorist called "4
Security Reasons". This project returns to the essence of the
beginning of Dom Pachino as P.R Terrorist adapting original
elements for lyrical content. This development is the forerunner
of projects from the lyricist known as P.R Terrorist. The
Rice & Beans album will probably follow after this but more will
be revealed as things unfold. The 4 Security Reasons will be
available from May 22nd and can be bought at Sandbox Automatic
and possibly other online stores.

New Killarmy Videos DVD:
Another error made yesterday was also that of this DVD release
which is not a Naplam recordings release but released under OLM
Productions.
One of the earliest and most successful
of the affiliate Wu-Tang groups, the five members of Killarmy
released three hit albums between 1997 and 2001, later launching
minor solo careers for 9th Prince, Dom Pachino (aka PR
Terrorist), Killa Sin and producer 4th Disciple. Featured in
their own "A Day In The Life" DVD in 2003, the crew remains
popular as ever with Wu enthusiasts. For the complete collector,
they've now released the official "Killarmy Videos" which
contains all 5 broadcast music videos on one DVD, never before
made available to the general public. Selections include
"Wu-Renegades", "Feel It", "Swinging Swords", "Fair Love & War"
and "Wake Up". |

Wu-Tang affiliate BRONZE NAZARETH set
to release debut solo album, The Great Migration, May 23rd on
Think Differently/Babygrande Records:
Dreddy Kruger, Think Differently Music and
Babygrande Records are proud to announce the debut solo album
from long time Wu-Tang affiliate/producer/MC Bronze Nazareth
entitled "The Great Migration," the second release from the
partnership that yielded 2005’s phenomenally successful
Think
Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture.
Bronze is renowned for his membership in the RZA’s “Wu Elements”
production group as well as his integral contributions to The
RZA’s album, "Birth of a Prince," whereby he produced the
album’s title track (on which RZA retired the popular Bobby
Digital alter ego) as
well as the sonically brilliant “A Day to God is a Thousand
Years.” And on "The Great Migration," |
Bronze makes a whole hearted and mind
blowing leap from producer extraordinaire to MC with a verbal
prowess comparable to his seasoned production chops. As The RZA instantly recognized, Bronze
churns out searing, painful production that is practically
tangible in its emotive weight, while his deep poetic lyrics are
designed to put a thinking mind to work. As the producer of
every track on "The Great Migration," Bronze
incorporates the rawness of his beloved old-school soul albums,
injecting his beats with painful moans and notes that mesmerize.
Throughout the years, Bronze’s music has fueled the sale of
tens-of-thousands of units and left its own indelible imprint
upon the Wu-Tang legacy. Having most recently served as a
prominent producer on the underground smash "Think Differently
Music: Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture," to date Bronze has
worked with the likes of GZA, Ras Kass, Cannibal Ox, Tragedy
Khadafi, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Casual of Heiroglyphics, Roc
Marciano, 4th Disciple and Killarmy, Black Market Militia, Gang
Starr affiliate Afu-Ra, Prodigal Sunn, Timbo King, DJ
Noize, Solomon Childs, Planet Asia, Littles, and many more of
today’s most vibrant and relevant independent acts.

Gate Keeping
With Frukwan From Gravediggaz [New Interview]; |
 |
Without
any introduction, Gravediggaz is a group that when mentioned
today brings in emotions from fans and any one that was
fortunate enough to witness pure genius at the time they dug
out from 6 feet under and introduced themselves to the
world.
A Veritable Super group featuring members of Stetsasonic and
the almighty Wu-Tang Clan, Gravediggaz made their debut in
1993 with classic for forever wanted
6 Feet Deep
(US) / Niggamortiz (European release). their horrifying
narratives spewed in witty intellectual innovative rhyme,
backed by menacing beats and heavy metal riffs, literally
spawned a new genre called Horror Core Hip-hop. The RZA,
Frukwan, Prince Paul and the late Poetic had managed to
create a masterpiece that is still very much talked about to
day and beyond.
The
Pick, The Sickle and The Shovel followed in 1997,
expanding the group's macabre sensibilities while offering a
more complex, artistically mature production style. At the
turn of the century, only two of the original Diggaz
remained, Frukwan and Poetic, who together
|
|
created another tour de force following the typical gravediggaz tradition
album "Nightmare
In A-Minor", released via a small independent outlet,
the label misjudged the amount the album was capable of
pushing that it eventually sold out within that year.
Fortuitously due to ever growing demand the album was later
picked up by another label and re-released in 2002.
Tragically Poetic departed his earthly dwelling in 2001
leaving Frukwan to carry the Gravediggaz torch as RZA and
Prince Paul have been too engaged in numerous projects to
get involved. Frukwan went on to release a solo album "Life"
in 2003, in a vain to keep the Gravediggaz name and
especially that of his dear friend and long time partner,
Poetic alive.
It seems there were no more graves to dig in hip-hop, the
rumours started flying in, a disappointing release “6
Feet Under” surfaced around 2004, with no one sure who
was behind this release, it seems Frukwan went AWOL as
nothing was heard from him while RZA and Prince Paul
continued in other ventures.
The name however, forever stayed in every ones mouth, How
does a group which has not released an album over a decade
and rumoured to exist no more continue to gain new fans,
spark arguments on online chat forums and get brought up
every chance possible when one gets hold of any of the
remaining members of the group for an interview? The next
and younger generation of hip-hop might not have been around
when the group surfaced but have become devoted fans almost
immediately they have had the chance to listen to the group.
Wu-International luckily had the chance to catch up with the
one and only Frukwan to find out the status of Gravediggaz,
the future if any of the group, the rumours, albums,
relationship with Wu-Tang Clan and Fam, state of hip-hop and
more, Enjoy as we grave dig with Frukwan aka The Gate
Keeper. Rest In Peace To Poetic.

RZA Speaks On Cuban
Linx II:
RZA released some exclusive information on Cuban Linx II to
Wu-Tang Corp today. RZA promises the fans it will be a real
classic, Raekwon is said to be in his most murderous vibe of
writing and the songs are coming along lovely. The whole Clan
(minus the late ODB) is confirmed to appear on the album. The
next street single after the well accepted "State Of Grace" will
probably be the RZA produced "Secret Inditement". Although RZA
is sceptical about outside producers making the final cut, there
are a few that have a good chance of getting on there.
With respect to the late J.Dilla, the song "House Of The Flying
Daggers" is a candidate for the album. Scram Jones has also
shopped his beats to Raekwon and RZA. The one producer everyone
is wondering about however is Dr.Dre. RZA and Dre were in the
studio last week together going through a mass amount of beats.
So far, according to RZA there are 3 songs produced by Dre that
both Raekwon and RZA are feeling heavily. These three songs are
recorded, mixed and done!
One of the songs features Raekwon, Busta Rhymes and RZA together
over a booming Dre beat! Whether this song will make the album
is still uncertain. Raekwon however is confirmed for the Busta
Rhymes album and RZA says the new Busta album is absolutely
crazy. The song featuring Stevie Wonder is his absolute favorite
and he urges all Wu fans to cop that album and support Busta who
is also a very close and loved brother to the Clan. Furthermore
RZA said hes very happy for Ghost to get the respect and first
week sales he received for "Fishscale". He added that "if people
liked the Ghostface album, they are gonna LOVE the Cuban Linx
part II album." |

Trigga-nommetries
On Money Making Operations: Interview with Trigga Of MMO. |
 |
It's been a long time coming since MMO
burst onto the scene some years back, the group was made popular
via their affiliations with Protect Ya Neck records/ Wu-Tang
management.
Coming up in Coney Island back in 1997, MMO battled plenty of
emcees and soon became known for their battling prowess, their
notoriety earned them the respect of John “Mook” Gibbons
(then-manager of Wu-Tang Clan), and the rest was history.
After releasing a number of projects/EPs the group was quiet for
a hot minute. 2006 sees a new chapter, The street have again
|
|
started gearing up for the group's highly
anticipated and long overdue debut album, “We MMO”, 13 tracks of
pure bangers for true Hip-hop heads, However the streets did not
see it coming, a much talked about mixtape from the group
entitled "Dipset Killin Season" to be released before the album
aimed directly at Cam'ron and the Dipset Click. In mist of all
that excitement, Wu-International caught up with MMO's own
Trigga for a quick lesson on trigonometry and answers to some of
the questions that have been dancing around the net. Click on

First Contact [Stone Mecca Speaks
To Your Soul] Interview: |
2006 has seen a Wu-Tang renaissance,
The clan recently just completed a very successful US
reunion tour in memory Of the late ODB, and around the same
time, The Wu-Tang Killa Beez were swarming the whole of
Europe with their infectious sting.
Ghostface killah just recently dropped another banging gem "Fishscale"
and the world awaits Raekwon to release the much
anticipated "OB4CL II", but wait it
|
 |
gets better, albums planned also for
this year include darts from Method Man, GZA/Genius, Masta
Killa, Cilvaringz and lots more known and unknown.
The biggest family in hip-hop and music in general are very
well known for constantly giving birth to new talents or
adopting existing acts. The abbot of the clan, The RZA has
got an exceptional gift of spotting great talents, Early
this year, The RZA introduced a new chapter into the 36
chambers, Wu-Tang Latino, known simply as Wu Latino,
bringing a fusion of Latin hip-hop and reggaeton in a
Wu-Tang fashion.
Another unforeseen move was the signing of Stone Mecca,
a soul, r&b,
funk duo from L.A. Traé James
and Salakida
make up the group and they bring something new, fresh,
unique and superlative to just not the Wu-Tang movement but
also to the world of music as a whole, stretching beyond
hip-hop, soul, r&B and any other genre for that matter.
With Wu Latino being the next
chamber, judging from what has been has been heard so far,
Stone Mecca has got to be the future chambers.
With all the questions running through the average readers
head right now as to who, where, what, Wu-International had
the privilege of a first encounter with the Traé
and Salakida
to get a better picture of Stone
Mecca. Click on the picture above or this link to check out
