Happy Wu Year
2007 [SumWuary: End Of 2006 Summary] |
|
Another
end of year, or just another day? While the new year marks a
day of celebration around the world, for some it’s a new
start, end of something, new resolutions, new hopes, and
expectations, but for the less caring ones, its just same ol'
shiii, different toilet.
2006 (MMV) as described by Wikipedia is a common year
starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar, the year of
the dog in the Chinese calendar and year of Mozart. Whatever
it means to each and everyone one of us, one thing is
common, it’s usually a time for reflection, and to put it
blunt and simple, the end of 2006 and entry of 2007.

For the purpose of the site,
Wu-International will focuses mainly on the almighty Wu-Tang
Clan, Killa Beez and Wu fam, but most importantly on the
fans just as the site has done on last year's
2005/2006
Summary. What did the Wu fans think of 2006? was it a
Wu-Tang renaissance as predicted? how many albums came out?
how many did the fans like? every year some one or group
gets initiated into the fam, who were they? who left and
didnt want to be associated with the "W"? where are some of
the artists been? how can one forget
about the beefs and fallouts? now what’s a Wu year without
the disappointment of numerous dates of albums to be
released that never came out? with so much to cover,
Wu-International has taken the time to compile a list of
some of the highlights, memorable moments, great albums,
most frowned moments, beefs, expectations for 2007, and so
on, please sit back, relax and reminisce on what went on in
the Wu world in 2006.
With a planned possibly last album
from the Clan collectively as a group, premeditated first
time ever releases from the likes of 60 Second Assassin,
Stone Mecca, Krymelife, Cilvaringz and Free Murda, RZA
continuing to score movies exclusively Hollywood, Raekwon to recreate the magic from '95 with
Cuban Linx II, Ghostface's Theodore Unit and MF Doom
project, and much much more, it seems 2007 will kick off
with a great start, Happy Wu Year 2007!! |
Main Summary:

Most Loves Moments:
- Chamber Dartz:
Wu-lyricz resurrected via Chambermusik as Chamber dartz
-
The Mind State Is 36:
Wu-Tang Clan signs a new record deal for a last album.
- RZA Priest: Wasn't it a
relief to see Priest working with RZA again and on tour
together?
- Majic Eyes:
After more than 5 years of waiting, Majestic 12 finally drops
their album.
- Poker Face: Shawn Wigs [O.T.F.
/ Theodore Unit] wins Diddy poker tournament.
- Doc Doom [Black Knights]
Comes back home, Welcome!!
Most Frowned At Moments:
- Ol' Dirty Tricks:
Allegations from widow's former lawyer
that Ol' Dirty Bastard's widow and a record producer were
scheming to keep the star's ex-girlfriend and five of his kids
from the millions his new album could generate when/if released.
- A Son Unique: When will
this album every come out? the fans have been waiting for more
than 2 years now with dates changing more than the English
weather, hopefully 2007 will see the fans cop the long awaited
and heavily bootlegged album from Ol' Dirty Bastard.
Nu-Tang Clan [New Wu-tang
affiliates]:
- Stone Mecca: was created
sometime in the Spring of 2001, born to proud parents, Traé
James (producer) and Salakida (singer/songwriter). A special and
funky child from birth, the sound that is Stone Mecca was raised
and nurtured on a steady diet of soul and hip hop. The
combination of Salakida's soulful, dreamy vocals and Traes hard
hitting, hypnotic beats, this duo has created an infectious and
hypnotic sound that is timeless and current, channeling the good
feelings of music past, without mimicking the greats that came
before. After listening to one of their CDs and checking out a
show, The RZA was sufficiently moved enough to offer Stone Mecca
a recording contract with his own imprint, Wu-Music
Group/Universal. Their debut project, Stone Mecca: First Contact
is due out in Summer 2007.
- Tash Mahogany: has
always been a Wu fam from the git-go, but how many Wu fam gets
officially acclaimed as a Killa Bee? Check her resume, a model,
actress, business woman, singer/rapper and simply a jack of all
trades. Tash was discovered by Beretta 9 aka Kinetic from
Killarmy and was featured on the killarmy side project "The
Orphanage" and then later introduced to The RZA who used her
skills on The Birth Of A Prince album and other collaborations.
This busy woman is currently putting finishing touches to her
album "Barely Legal" with 12 songs already produced by The RZA,
in addition to up coming movie roles, modeling jobs and a spot
on the highly anticipated OB4CL II, Watch out for Tash as you
will not be able to avoid coming across here somewhere, somehow in
2007.
- Generation WU: Or is it
Generation next? literally Wubloodkin, the natural and automatic
affiliation with the Wu-Tang movement without having to go
through The RZA or any of the generals for that matter is by
being blood related, not cousin or brother type
relations but seeds and heirs of the founding fathers.
- Young Justice:
Like father, like son, being the son of
the lyrical GZA/Genius, it is easy to see where Young J
inherited his sharp lyrical delivery and flow from. Probably
the youngest member of the Wu right now, he was first heard
on his father's classic album Liquid Sword mumbling words,
before going on to work on a solo song, a remix of Killa
Hill which was originally covered by GZA/Genius. Currently
under GZA's Liquid Sword Entertainment, Young Justice has
gone on to feature on both of Masta Killa's album along side
sons of ODB, Power, and Masta Killa. Sharp emcee with an ear
for great beats, anyone who has also heard the track he
featured and produced in on Lord Jamar's (Brand Nubian) 5%
album "Young Godz" would know there is a star in the rising,
Watch the space.
- Sun God:
Youngest member of Theodore Unit and son of Ghostface Killah
was introduced to the world on the Ghost/Trife Da God "Put
It On The Line" album and Ghostface
Tour in 2005. 2006 saw Sun God getting more active and
involved as he reaped his guest cuts on the well praised GFK
album "More Fish" while gaining himself new fans.
- Shamel Irief:
aka Young
Masta is the seed of Masta Killa and was first presented on
Masta Killa's "No Said Date" album and has gone on to
feature on the follow up "Made In Brooklyn" along side Young
Justice and Young Prince.
- Young Dirty
Bastard: The name alone says it all, son of the late ODB was first heard on Lord Jamar's (Brand
Nubian) album on the song "Young Godz" along side Young
Justice and then went on to feature with The RZA and William
Burke on The Protector soundtrack.
- Young Prince:
Following the footstep of others, Young Prince is the
son of Power and has only been heard on Masta Killa's Made
In Brooklyn album.
With that out of the way, what ever happened
to last year's new members Wu Latino and Harlem 6? Hopefully 2007
will see a completed album from both groups.
Album Counts:
- Wu-Tang Clan: 5 [9] Last
years count was only 2 albums from the generals, so 5 is an
acceptable number, if the instrumental, re-issued, live and
soundtrack albums were to be included respectively then the
total count would amount to 9.
- Wu-Tang Killa Beez: 13 [21]
Last years total count was 23, the inclusion of an EP, 6
re-releases, an instrumental and greatest hits albums will bring
the total to 21.
- Wu-Fam: 5 [6] thanks to
the internet, technology and chambermusik as some of the albums
from the members and affiliates would never have come out.
Beefs / Diss Songs
- Leathafase / Hillside Scramblers Vs. U-God
- Method Man Vs Wendy Williams
- M.M.O. Vs Dip set
- Maino Vs Wu-Tang
- Killah Priest Vs G-Unit
Artists To Watch Out For 2007
- Killah Priest: Kept the
fans edutained and informed via his interesting online journal
entries, all the songs he has been putting out, be it collabos,
freestyles, b-sides or mixtapes, have all been consistent
and of high quality. Having already completed songs with the
likes of Immortal Technique, Nas, his Maccabeez brethrens, and
possibly a cameo from The RZA and GZA/Genius, Priest Offering is
bound to cause a heavy reaction this year, set trend and take
hip-hop back to its purest form again.
- Fame Labs: Fans
welcomed the return of Darkim Be Allah and his partner Allah
Wise last year with great expectations. After the release of the
underground gem Fame Labs Presents AIG, the camp pretty much
went silent. Just when one begins to wonder what is going on,
new songs hit the net waves, Allah Wise smacks doubters with the
incredible "Supreme Pleasure" and Darkim shows why he has one of
the best voice, flow, language command and gritty, witty compact
rhymes in the industry with all 5 star "Christ The King". The
Fame Labs sound can only be compared to hip-hop's golden era
(93-96), with Fame Labs Presents Live At The Lab Take 2 nearly
finished and scheduled for a February release, solo projects
from Wise and Darkim, an instrumental album and releases from
the fame labs roster, 2007 marks all the reign of the king.

those who had the chance to download it and with a number of
planned releases from him featuring a whole list of Wu artist,

Tekitha : The Wisdom Body Interview
|
|
Imagine your record being one
of the most anticipated albums for years even though
it never actually came out. Imagine having an
international fan base in this microwave mcnugget
culture still without an album out, Imagine being
voted best female vocalist on chat rooms and forums
without even a properly promoted single out to date.
Imagine The RZA of the almighty Wu-Tang Clan and one
of Hip-hop's top producers behind your record.
Imagine being Tekitha.
A rare artist among her own
generation, a singer, dancer, poet,
gymnast,
extraordinary songwriter |
 |
|
and an emcee, Tekitha was introduced to
the world via her Wu-Tang affiliation, she appeared on the
double disc classic album Wu-Tang Forever, where she also had a
solo venture titled "Second Coming", She has proven to be
a wealth of vocal skills and has gone on to fill in for the then
unavailable Mary J. Blige in the song/video for Ghostface
Killah's "All That I Got Is You". Not being confined to just
singing, fans and critics were equally surprised but
impressed when she dropped a sharp verse on Cappdonna's "Pump
your Fist" off "The Pillage" album. She has
proceeded to feature on a number of Wu-Tang projects as well as
other artists like the likes of Hip-hop's legendary KRS-One as
well as house/dance heavyweight Armand Van Helden.
Versatility and flexibility seems to be a one of Tekitha's
traits, a random encounter with a stranger on a train lead her
to meet and record with one of the then best kept secret
in house music, Armand Van Helden, recording for such labels as
Strictly Rhythm, Henry St., and Logic. Afterwards, becoming of
one of the top names in dance music altogether. The result of
Almand and Tekitha's union was the club anthem "Mother
Earth" from "2 Future 4 U "
album, which was a #1 hit in the UK sales and dance charts,
following on to more collaborations and the formation of the
group and project Sahara.
After a number of obstacles thrown her way, Tekitha is still
very much around and relevant, a much needed voice today's music
and culture. Wisdom body is a word one will associate with
Tekitha, wisdom
being the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships;
a synonymous with insight, good sense, and sound judgment
and body could be explained as a
collection of particulars
considered as a system. In her own words,
wisdom
are wise words spoken and the body representing a temple or
collective parts working as one, Wisdom body is a collective and
corporation.
While the die hard fans might
still be browsing the net for anything under her name, not
everyone knows what she has been up to, Wu-International had a
chance to delve into the mind of the gorgeous Tekitha and what
she has been up to all this time, Wu-Tang, her dedication to her
community, future works and more. Though she might have featured
on several guest shots and various projects, its time for
that voice to speak out. Click on the picture above or the link
provided to read The Wisdom Body Interview. Enjoy!

Chamber Dartz [Old Wu Lyrics] Is Back: Few years ago, Wu
nerds found joy on a number of sites solely dedicated to
Wu-Tang, but just like all good things, there is usually an end.
Remember Wu Monastery run by wubloodkin? what about Wu-Lyricz?
Remember where you would go to look for lyrics for songs done by
Wu-Tang Clan & Wu Killa Beez members? or rather dash onto
googles and search for lyrics to a rare Wu song and would get
results which would be written someone from Wu Lyricz? Some
years back the site went down for a number of reasons, and the
fans were left second guessing what was said on Wu tang songs
and arguing about them on forums.
Who
said that all good things come to an end? Well that might not
always be true as the original members from Wu Lyricz Cno Evil
and Tha Masta have teamed up with the mighty Chambermusik to
bring you
Chamber Dartz, a newer and updated site dedicated solely to
lyrics from your favorite Wu-tang members from old to new
albums, compilations, b-sides, guest spots and soundtracks, what
more can you really ask for? Artists, fans, haters, grandmas and
everyone under the sun can contribute by either sending new
lyrics, corrections, ideas etc to
cnoevil@chambermusik.com,
check the site out now at

Warcloud [Holocaust] New Name
Change: Nothing new to name changing when it comes to
Warcloud, who has just added another new name to his ever
growing list, as announced by the Warcloud Forum, his new name
is now Robot Tank. Props to Warcloud Forum for this news. The reason behind the name is yet to
be revealed, One thing Wu-International know for sure is that
Robot Tank is a song Warcould has done with Contribution X from
the album
Cobra
Of The North. Album is sold out and available on download
only but Contribution X has informed Wu-International that it
will be released again next month and it will include
2-hr DVD featuring all
the people from the album such as Black Knights (Monk &
Crisis), Beretta 9, RBX, Warcloud etc , live performance's,
interviews, in-store's, TV-show, Radio show, & much more.

William Cooper (Black Market Militia) -
Beware Of The Pale Horse (Interview) |
|
 |
Just last year a super group of talented
emcees emerged as Black Market Militia, the group was born out
of the urgency of what's been lost in hip-hop, you can call it
the essence of the music that is no longer heard in
today's microwave brand of hip-hop. The groups aim was simple,
to present enjoyable music with
understandable
messages, covering issues of universal relevance like politics,
conspiracy theories, religion, spirituality, economics, and
revolution.
Black Market Militia is the brainchild of two
different legendary emcees, with different affiliations, from
two different boroughs with a common goal, Killah Priest
(Wu-Tang Clan/Sunz Of Man) and Tragedy Khadafi (Almighty Juice
Crew) teamed up in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom and to
spread these beliefs through the medium of hip-hop. To
make the group complete, 3 other talents were brought to add
weight to the group, already established Timbo King (Wu-Tang
Killa Beez/Royal Fam), Hell Razah (Wu-Tang Clan/Sunz Of Man) and
last but not least William Cooper. Their street savoir-faire
lyrics and no holds barred delivery enabled the group to deliver
a masterpiece album that is still unmatched in today's hip-hop,
don't believe me, proof is in the pudding, read he review and

Everyone loves an under dog, don't they? Even well with the
presence of already established emcees on the BMM project, few
people couldn't help but wonder who the new cat was, He was nice
with his and while most Wu-Tang & Hip -hop fans in general were
fully aware of the 4 established emcees history, very little was
known of William Cooper aka Booth. Based on his efficient and
much needed contribution on the Black Market album, it is not
grueling to realize his skills and talent, definitely no rookie
on the mic. While most might not be aware of this sharp
craftsman's history, William Cooper has been in the game for
over 10 years, as a producer, A&R, and emcee, it will surprise
most to know that he produced and served as the a&r for Tragedy
Khadafi's "Still Reporting".
Cooper has named himself after the late radio host, author and
political activist most also known as William Cooper, who was
mainly known for his best selling underground book entitled
"Behold A Place Horse" where the author airs out so many
controversial topics. The book covers 2 types of
two types of people in the world:
those who want to know who exactly is controlling whom, and
those who are more comfortable taking things at face value.
Cooper's account of what the government is capable of in times
of heightened alert is extremely relevant now. what's most
interesting is that the book was published before the 911 attack
on the World Trade Center which was predicted on this book.
If he is not using that name, he is assuming his producer's
alter ego as Booth, adopted from John Wilkes Booth, one of the
most popular assassins the world has ever seen responsible for
the death of President Lincoln, but nothing to worry about here,
all Booth's assassinating here is hot beats and tracks.
The
emcee William Cooper aka Booth is currently putting finishing
touch to a solo album "Beware Of A Pale Horse" set to drop end
of the year and album following the tradition of the author, the
album will be covering everything under the sun, from politics,
social events to spirituality and more, this will feature
contributions from his Militia brothers, Killah Priest, Timber
King, Tragedy, and Hell Razah and have done collaborations with
the likes of Trife Da God (Theodore Unit / TMF), Blue
Raspberry (Wu-Tang Clan Songstress) and a surprisingly
with the incarcerated 9th Prince from Killarmy. Look out for
another Black Market Militia Part II project, this will be
followed by another group project that involves Killah Priest as
a member of The Eloheem Team and The Gemstar Regime project, it
is quite evident William Cooper is a man that is on a mission, a
mission to elevate hip-hop and the game to a whole new level,
