breaking “Lyricist
Lounge Show,” can easily be considered the Richard Pryor of
hip-hop. Much like the legendary comedian, there’s no telling
what’s liable to come out of his mouth; but whatever it is, you
know it’s going to be wild. It was Master Fuol and his
ability to flip a comedic flow in a cipher with freestyle fiend
Wordsworth and a few others that brought the idea to Lyricist
Lounge co-founder Anthony Marshall to create the sketch comedy
show for MTV. Master Fuol’s crazy energy and flawless flows made
him the perfect candidate to star in the hip-hop variety show.
It was his offbeat characters, as well, that significantly
contributed to the “Lyricist Lounge Show” being one of MTV’s
highest rated shows during its two season stint. A master of
rhythmic flows, Fuol’s often explicit antics, both on and off
stage, has made Fuol’s live show an experience few will ever
forget.
A product of the borough of Brooklyn, Brownsville, New York,
finds comfort and creativity in the grimy streets where he’s
affectionately know as “Mayor Fuoliani.” Making light of life
situations most could find deplorable, Fuol finds solace in the
ghetto life that surrounded him as his life and paints a picture
through rhyme as only he can. Maybe it was Master Fuol’s love of
grit and grime that prompted the great late Ol’ Dirty Bastard of
the Wu-Tang Clan to invite Fuol to open for him on his 1998
tour, or maybe it was because outside of Flava Flav, no one else
in the music industry is as unpredictable on stage. The energy
and creative vibe made ODB form a group with Master Fuol while
on tour along side his brother 12 O' Clock and Poppa Chief of the
Brooklyn Zu fam called D.R.U.G. (Dirty Rotten Underground
Grimmies).
Getting his feet wet in the gutters of the New York underground
scene, Fuol began doing shows at the infamous Lyricist Lounge
and his stand out performances on tracks like Thirsten Howl
III’s “I Still Live With My Moms” and his own anthems
“Drunkfist,” “Don’t Worr ‘Bout It,” and “Brownsville Kid” made
him a hot commodity locally. The growing buzz bought the pair a
ticket as the first unsigned acts to attend the “Lyricist
Lounge” tour in 1998. Master Fuol later returned to open for Mos
Def on the Lyricist Lounge’s second domestic tour. Fuol has
worked with some of the industry’s best from coast to coast
including the late Big Pun, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Wu-Syndicate, JT
Money, Pastor Troy, MJG, Killah Priest, DMX, Def Jef and many
more who were all enamored by his style. It was the bite that
his animal magnetism packed that drew all of these artists, so
it’s only befitting that his debut effort entitled “
Bronsville Kid: The
Epitome of Raw Animal Magnetism.” created such a buzz even
though he was not fully behind the release. The project
contained 18 of the of the most Uniquely produced and lyrically
delivered tracks that has hit the streets in years. Including
the pimped out “Master Fuol” which has Kokane sprinkling his
savory vocals over Fuol’s macadocious lyrics. Young Roscoe lends
his bravado to the syncopated high intensity beat stings' of
“Brownsville NY,” while Ol’ Dirty Bastard spits his signature
over the whimsical “Last Call.”
Although his style and show
is very comical, his skills are no laughing matter. Fuol’s
creativity and ability to capture an audience is mesmerizing and
brings a refreshing change to the face of hip-hop. Find out what
this rare talent has been up to since when Wu-International
caught up with him for one of the funniest, honest and
insightful interview exclusives, read about his beginnings, his
thoughts on Hip-hop, history with Ol' Dirty Bastard, the group

Stone Mecca: Bringing
The Apple Back From The Juice Interview |
|
|
|
Around this time last year,
Wu-International interviewed Wu-Tang's latest sensation, Stone
Mecca and got a little glimpse of what the group was about and
since then they have been hard at work putting finishing touches
to their debut project "Stone Mecca: First Contact"
scheduled to be released sometime this year. Early this year,
super producer and Wu-Tang Clan's own RZA released the Afro
Samurai soundtrack and had people all excited and talking again
as the fans got a first hand taste of Stone Mecca's potential
and what they have to offer. Stone Mecca had arguably 2 of the
best songs ("Oh" and "The Walk") on the Afro Samurai soundtrack
without taking anything away from the rest of the good songs on
that compilation, listen for yourself, read the reviews, nothing
less than pure genius, one can't help but anticipate greatly
what more the group had in store.
Since the group was introduced a number of changes and
developments have taken place, still consisting of Trú
James and Salakida, new names
such as
Allen Anthony formerly of Christion (Rocafella Records), and Wendy Marie have been
included, Wu-International caught up with
singer/songwriter and main producer of the group Trú
James to find out what's
Stone Mecca has been cooking up, progress with their album,

The Wisemen Are Here Interview
|
|
Emerging in 2004, when crunk
music and southern hip hop was taking over the hip-hop world,
the Detroit, MI-based Wisemen plotted to create music that was
natural, revolutionary, street, and of the utmost quality. The Wisemen’s
plan is to be great, simply because of their music. The Wisemen
were initially assembled as a group of seven MCs. Whittled down
to the most serious in the group, the four remaining members
plan to establish The Wisemen as a force to be reckoned with on
their debut album, Wisemen Approaching. Electing their group
name stems from the idea that in whatever context, or situation,
we remain wise |
 |
|
and use our wisdom to make
correctmoves. All four members work their own ingredients into
the chemistry. Bronze Nazareth, the critically acclaimed Wu Tang
Producer-and MC, Kevlaar 7, also an MC as well as producer.
Phillie, west Detroit MC, and Salute (the Kid) East Detroit MC.
Like most inner city youth,
the Wisemen began life trying to get by whatever way they could.
For Bronze, that meant keeping a job, scraping up money for
equipment, and when life hit hard, stealing food from the local
grocer, and getting his feet wet in “get by” work. Also growing
up in a city they called “Gun Rule” Kevlaar 7 was rolling the
city streets with friends also searching for a way out. Escaping
their pains through music, Bronze & Kevlaar eventually formed a
group named “The Unknown” and released an online album called "Death's
Birth: The Grip Of Behemoths". After completing an album
together, that garnered only internet and local sales attention,
the disheartening experience would prove most important to the
Wisemen. After signing with Wu-Tang and moving to Detroit,
Bronze Nazareth and Kevlaar 7 began discussing a new group.
Bronze had an idea to build a seven man group, called the 7
Wisemen. Kevlaar 7 moved to Detroit shortly after Bronze and
they began efforts to put a recording studio together.
Bronze discovered Phillie in
the streets of West Detroit, while circulating his business card
to possible beat customers. Growing up on the infamous numbers
streets, a rough set of blocks in Southwest Detroit, Phillie
learned how to use his mental to stay swift. While trying to
stay afloat in the streets and avoid bids, Phillie would hustle
his money, and then concentrate on music. Paying dues for years,
Phillie formed and then disbanded from several groups and labels
who couldn’t match his work ethic, or groom his potential. On
the eastside, a chance meeting at work, led Bronze to Salute the
Kid. Salute and Bronze also thought on the same plain and began
to discuss life. Growing up in the projects, Salute earned his
name by the natural way of the streets. A live street history
led Salute through wild years, where he politicked in the
grimiest of spots, and eventually he found himself experiencing
tragic tribulations. Salute vowed to get himself together, and
attempt to fly right. Bronze introduced them to Kevlaar they
built at several studio sessions and they all came together.
This would form the crew that would evolve into the Wisemen.
With their 2007 debut, the thought provoking and menacing
Wisemen
Approaching, The Wisemen have created a hazy, threatening,
and thoughtful soundscape out of mesmurizing beats, bleeding
piano riffs, and surgeon chopped samples over these powerful
beats, the MCs rap with no regard as to what’s “hot”, they
provoke thought imagery, and update a vanished art of beats
rhymes and life. The Wisemne Approaching drops on the 27th of
febrauray 2007,and features heavyweights such as GZA/Genius,
Killah Priest, Prodigal Sunn, Timbo King and more.

Krohme: All Praises Due Interview
|
 |
What
can you say about this cat from Alexandria, VA? He has worked
with everybody from Wu-Tang Clan members and affiliates to the
likes of Kool G. Rap, Ras Kass, MF Grimm, and so forth, from major hitters to the
independent staples, labeled by most as your favorite producer's
producer, K-R-O-H-M-E is a name that rings bell right now,
especially over the internet, his sound is universal, for the
masses and for the underground, and if there is a
definition of determination, hard work and skills coupled
together with a zeal for success, then Krohme surely has the
recipe. |
A
product of multiple ethnicities, Chris Moore, aka Krohme, was
born in Bethesda, Maryland and became interested in music at an
early age, from playing classical instruments to mixing records
on his mother's turntable, he developed an ear for music, his
exposure to various music genre has helped shaped his musical
skills and taste he implements into his own music.
He began his hip-hop career by using tape decks to record his
own songs over popular instrumentals, not satisfied with using
someone else's work, he found a radio shack keyboard, received a
Boss Dr. Rhythm drum machine as a gift and began making his own
music in 1997.
Utilizing his own diverse musical interests, which included
hip-hop, soul, rock, heavy metal and classical, he began
sampling records to develop a unique musical library that he
extended to local artists and eventually unsigned artists along
the east coast. Not until 2004 that Krohme began sending beat CDs off to
record labels, disappointed with a lack of response, he began
reaching out to various artists and labels via the internet. He
got in touch with Wu-Tang Clan's GZA/Genius's DJ and was able to
get his music to the hands of
legendary MC as well as generate interest from other MC's.
His first break came however when Hell Razah of Sunz Of Man,
Black Market Militia and Maccabeez fame asked Krohme to produce
a track for his upcoming solo album, working under a tight
deadline. The resulting track was well received and resulted in
Hell Razah requesting additional tracks.
Krohme has since started Godsendant Music and is currently
working on releasing a number of project which includes South Of Heaven album, which will
feature the likes of Method Man, Mobb Deep, Ras Kass, Kool G
Rap, Warcloud aka Holocaust, Cappadonna, Shyheim, Dom Pachino, MF Grimm and plenty
plenty more.
His music can be found on the released MF Grimm classic album
American Hunger as well as forthcoming albums from Shyhiem,
Shade Shiest, Hell Razah, Leathaface and much more.
Power of the internet and simply word of mouth has help create a
buzz about his production skills and abilities and has made it
easier for him to build with a lot of artists, not to mention
the buzz generated when Ras Kass dropped The Game diss "Hush
Little Baby" and since then a lot of artists have started
contacting the producer's producer for heat. Krohme dropped
sampler for South of Heaven in late 2006 and it was very well
received globally, and in 2007 with a lot of projects on its
way, he is fully ready to drop his highly anticipated solo work,
"All Praises Due" which features the likes of Royce 5'9, Hell
Razah, MC Serch and few others, this kid is quite unstoppable
right now.
All
praises due drops on the 27th of February 2007, and its well worth the wait,
Wu-International got a chance to chat with Krohme about his
album, his label Godsendant, how it all started, and his future.
If you are a producer looking for a blueprint to follow, look no

|
The Wisemen Approaching |
[Bronze Nazareth, Kevlaar 7,
Salute & Phillie] |
 |
Renowned Wu-Tang affiliate & RZA
producer pairs with three of Detroit’s finest up &
coming for the debut album, "Wisemen Approaching," featuring
guest appearances from GZA/Genius, Killah Priest, Vast Aire,
Planet Asia & more.
Ardent followers of early ‘90’s hip-hop such as the Wu-Tang
Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Prince Paul & even the
inimitable Kool G. Rap, The Wisemen was born equally from
necessity as well as an underlying purpose: to revive the
enlightened aesthetic of the so-called “golden era” of
hip-hop. Spearheaded by Bronze Nazareth, a Detroit
producer/emcee with deep ties to the RZA of the seminal
Wu-Tang Clan, the group is rounded out by Detroit stalwarts
Kevlaar 7, Phillie and Salute (the Kid). |
The name “Wisemen” refers to the
individual members’ commitment to prudence in the face of
adversity, an ideology spawned from each emcee’s proven
perseverance in the face of hardships. Finding a common
catharsis in music, Bronze & Kevlaar originally formed a
group entitled “The Unknown.” After releasing an album in
the late ‘90’s that garnered a healthy level of internet and
local buzz, Bronze’s production soon caught the eye of
Wu-Tang impresario RZA. Bronze’s first break came when RZA
tapped him to produce a few tracks on his highly lauded solo
LP "Birth Of A Prince." Shortly thereafter, Bronze and
Kevlaar 7 began discussing the formation of a new group, and
Bronze set out to find his constituents.
In 2005, Bronze Nazareth’s beats and rhymes were highlighted
on the underground smash Think Differently Music: "Wu-Tang
Meets The Indie Culture." 2006 saw the release of Bronze’s
solo debut, "The Great Migration," to both critical and
commercial fanfare. Now, with the long awaited 2007 release
of Wisemen Approaching, the cerebrally menacing Wisemen
unleash their debut aural assault, drawing generously from
the Wu-Tang blueprint of pensive soundscapes, mesmerizing
beats, bleeding, emotive piano riffs and sprinklings of
soul.
Featuring a slew of guest appearances including GZA/Genius
of the Wu-Tang Clan, Sunz of Man core constituent Killah
Priest, Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox, Prodigal Sunn & more as
well as production by Bronze Nazareth, Kevvlar 7, amongst
others, "Wisemen Approaching" is an historic snapshot of
four emcees guided by a common purpose, hardened by
experience but optimistic about hip-hop’s future. They’re
fighting hip-hop’s noble fight: a return to the fundamental
pursuit of beats, rhymes and life.

Napoleon: The Kingpin With Da Inkpen Interview
|
 |
From Cryme Syndicate to Wu-Syndicate and
currently Syndicate, the journey started a long time for this
lyrical trio. Based out of the VA beach region, the
Wu-Syndicate (Joe Mafia, Myerlansky, and Napoleon) have been
hammering out hip-hop tracks for a number of years. Formerly
known as Crime Syndicate, the group formed their own independent
label, Slot Time Records. They hooked up with local producers DJ
Devastator, Tata, and The Dread cutting demos and pressing
singles.
They managed to create a big buzz
on the underground scene especially in VA which made the talented producer The RZA from the
Wu-Tang Clan notice them immediately and quickly snatched them up, initiated them into
the Wu-Tang Killa Beez fam and signed them to Wu-Tang
records/Priority alongside Killarmy, Sunz Of Man, A.I.G., Black
Knights, Cappadonna and a host of others.
In 98’ the group got its
first break with the track “Where Was Heaven”, featured on the
compilation album, “The Swarm” (Wu-Tang/Priority Records). “The
Swarm” (Gold Album) peaked at #4 on the Billboard Rap Album
Chart. |
|
Just months before “The
Syndicate” album dropped, Corey Hart (Napoleon) was incarcerated
due to a prior 1997 felony charge. In 99’ Wu-Tang/Priority
Records released the groups debut album, “Myalansky
& Joe Mafia Presents Wu-Syndicate”. Even though they
were unable to tour, being that Napoleon was on a majority of
their hit songs, the group successfully sold over 500,000 albums
to date and it is still currently sort after to date.
The “Lutunza Hit”, One of the songs off “The
Wu-Syndicate” (Gold
Album) was also on the “Wu-Chronicles” (Platinum Album).
Strangely after all the success, the group went all quiet, with
individual member going in and out of lock down. Joe Mafia
released an online album around 2002 and nothing has been heard
from none of them since. Napoleon came out and has been making
major moves since then without the fans actually knowing much
about this, Having
performed at shows with successful artists of the 90’s such as
Method Man, Shaq, Redman, Ras Kass, and Biggie Smalls (before
his bad boy success), Napoleon has proven himself to the
industry.
Upon release in 2002, Napoleon hit the studio and recorded the
smash hit, “Seven City Anthem”, which was in heavy rotation on
the hottest radio station in VA, 103 JAMZ. Napoleon is currently
working on his solo album entitled, “KingPin With Da Inkpen”,
with promises of appearances from Ghostface Killah (Wu-Tang
Clan), Nas, Jay-Z, Nicole Ray (who is
also in the “Seven City Anthem” and signed to Rock-a-Fella
Records), Jim Jones, The Clipse, Crook Nitty, and his
Wu-Syndicate comrades Joe Mafia and Myalansky. Napoleon is prepared to be known in the
21st century as “The KingPin with Da Inkpen”. The album is
currently finished and about to come out, Wu-International got
hold of this very busy man who managed to get some time out his
hectic schedules to briefly answer some of the questions the
fans have been waiting about 4 years to ask. Very brief but
informative, and after the album drops we hopefully will follow
up with a more detailed interview. Click on picture above or

Happy Wu Year
2007 [SumWuary: End Of 2006 Summary] |
|
Another
end of year, or just another day? While the new year marks a
day of celebration around the world, for some it’s a new
start, end of something, new resolutions, new hopes, and
expectations, but for the less caring ones, its just same ol'
shiii, different toilet.
2006 (MMV) as described by Wikipedia is a common year
starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar, the year of
the dog in the Chinese calendar and year of Mozart. Whatever
it means to each and everyone one of us, one thing is
common, it’s usually a time for reflection, and to put it
blunt and simple, the end of 2006 and entry of 2007.
|
|
 |
|
For the purpose of the site,
Wu-International will focuses mainly on the almighty Wu-Tang
Clan, Killa Beez and Wu fam, but most importantly on the
fans just as the site has done on last year's
2005/2006
Summary. What did the Wu fans think of 2006? was it a
Wu-Tang renaissance as predicted? how many albums came out?
how many did the fans like? every year some one or group
gets initiated into the fam, who were they? who left and
didnt want to be associated with the "W"? where are some of
the artists been? how can one forget
about the beefs and fallouts? now what’s a Wu year without
the disappointment of numerous dates of albums to be
released that never came out? with so much to cover,
Wu-International has taken the time to compile a list of
some of the highlights, memorable moments, great albums,
most frowned moments, beefs, expectations for 2007, and so
on, please sit back, relax and reminisce on what went on in
the Wu world in 2006.
With a planned possibly last album
from the Clan collectively as a group, premeditated first
time ever releases from the likes of 60 Second Assassin,
Stone Mecca, Krymelife, Cilvaringz and Free Murda, RZA
continuing to score movies exclusively Hollywood, Raekwon to recreate the magic from '95 with
Cuban Linx II, Ghostface's Theodore Unit and MF Doom
project, and much much more, it seems 2007 will kick off
with a great start, Happy Wu Year 2007!! |

Most Frowned At Moments:
- Ol' Dirty Tricks:
Allegations from widow's former lawyer
that Ol' Dirty Bastard's widow and a record producer were
scheming to keep the star's ex-girlfriend and five of his kids
from the millions his new album could generate when/if released.
- A Son Unique: When will
this album every come out? the fans have been waiting for more
than 2 years now with dates changing more than the English
weather, hopefully 2007 will see the fans cop the long awaited
and heavily bootlegged album from Ol' Dirty Bastard.
Nu-Tang Clan [New Wu-tang
affiliates]:
- Stone Mecca: was created
sometime in the Spring of 2001, born to proud parents, Traé
James (producer) and Salakida (singer/songwriter). A special and
funky child from birth, the sound that is Stone Mecca was raised
and nurtured on a steady diet of soul and hip hop. The
combination of Salakida's soulful, dreamy vocals and Traes hard
hitting, hypnotic beats, this duo has created an infectious and
hypnotic sound that is timeless and current, channeling the good
feelings of music past, without mimicking the greats that came
before. After listening to one of their CDs and checking out a
show, The RZA was sufficiently moved enough to offer Stone Mecca
a recording contract with his own imprint, Wu-Music
Group/Universal. Their debut project, Stone Mecca: First Contact
is due out in Summer 2007.
- Tash Mahogany: has
always been a Wu fam from the git-go, but how many Wu fam gets
officially acclaimed as a Killa Bee? Check her resume, a model,
actress, business woman, singer/rapper and simply a jack of all
trades. Tash was discovered by Beretta 9 aka Kinetic from
Killarmy and was featured on the killarmy side project "The
Orphanage" and then later introduced to The RZA who used her
skills on The Birth Of A Prince album and other collaborations.
This busy woman is currently putting finishing touches to her
album "Barely Legal" with 12 songs already produced by The RZA,
in addition to up coming movie roles, modeling jobs and a spot
on the highly anticipated OB4CL II, Watch out for Tash as you
will not be able to avoid coming across here somewhere, somehow in
2007.
- Generation WU: Or is it
Generation next? literally Wubloodkin, the natural and automatic
affiliation with the Wu-Tang movement without having to go
through The RZA or any of the generals for that matter is by
being blood related, not cousin or brother type
relations but seeds and heirs of the founding fathers.
- Young Justice:
Like father, like son, being the son of
the lyrical GZA/Genius, it is easy to see where Young J
inherited his sharp lyrical delivery and flow from. Probably
the youngest member of the Wu right now, he was first heard
on his father's classic album Liquid Sword mumbling words,
before going on to work on a solo song, a remix of Killa
Hill which was originally covered by GZA/Genius. Currently
under GZA's Liquid Sword Entertainment, Young Justice has
gone on to feature on both of Masta Killa's album along side
sons of ODB, Power, and Masta Killa. Sharp emcee with an ear
for great beats, anyone who has also heard the track he
featured and produced in on Lord Jamar's (Brand Nubian) 5%
album "Young Godz" would know there is a star in the rising,
Watch the space.
- Sun God:
Youngest member of Theodore Unit and son of Ghostface Killah
was introduced to the world on the Ghost/Trife Da God "Put
It On The Line" album and Ghostface
Tour in 2005. 2006 saw Sun God getting more active and
involved as he reaped his guest cuts on the well praised GFK
album "More Fish" while gaining himself new fans.
- Shamel Irief:
aka Young
Masta is the seed of Masta Killa and was first presented on
Masta Killa's "No Said Date" album and has gone on to
feature on the follow up "Made In Brooklyn" along side Young
Justice and Young Prince.
- Young Dirty
Bastard: The name alone says it all, son of the late ODB was first heard on Lord Jamar's (Brand
Nubian) album on the song "Young Godz" along side Young
Justice and then went on to feature with The RZA and William
Burke on The Protector soundtrack.
- Young Prince:
Following the footstep of others, Young Prince is the
son of Power and has only been heard on Masta Killa's Made
In Brooklyn album.
With that out of the way, what ever happened
to last year's new members Wu Latino and Harlem 6? Hopefully 2007
will see a completed album from both groups.
Album Counts:
- Wu-Tang Clan: 5 [9] Last
years count was only 2 albums from the generals, so 5 is an
acceptable number, if the instrumental, re-issued, live and
soundtrack albums were to be included respectively then the
total count would amount to 9.
- Wu-Tang Killa Beez: 13 [21]
Last years total count was 23, the inclusion of an EP, 6
re-releases, an instrumental and greatest hits albums will bring
the total to 21.
- Wu-Fam: 5 [6] thanks to
the internet, technology and chambermusik as some of the albums
from the members and affiliates would never have come out.
Beefs / Diss Songs
- Leathafase / Hillside Scramblers Vs. U-God
- Method Man Vs Wendy Williams
- M.M.O. Vs Dip set
- Maino Vs Wu-Tang
- Killah Priest Vs G-Unit
Artists To Watch Out For 2007
- Killah Priest: Kept the
fans edutained and informed via his interesting online journal
entries, all the songs he has been putting out, be it collabos,
freestyles, b-sides or mixtapes, have all been consistent
and of high quality. Having already completed songs with the
likes of Immortal Technique, Nas, his Maccabeez brethrens, and
possibly a cameo from The RZA and GZA/Genius, Priest Offering is
bound to cause a heavy reaction this year, set trend and take
hip-hop back to its purest form again.
- Fame Labs: Fans
welcomed the return of Darkim Be Allah and his partner Allah
Wise last year with great expectations. After the release of the
underground gem Fame Labs Presents AIG, the camp pretty much
went silent. Just when one begins to wonder what is going on,
new songs hit the net waves, Allah Wise smacks doubters with the
incredible "Supreme Pleasure" and Darkim shows why he has one of
the best voice, flow, language command and gritty, witty compact
rhymes in the industry with all 5 star "Christ The King". The
Fame Labs sound can only be compared to hip-hop's golden era
(93-96), with Fame Labs Presents Live At The Lab Take 2 nearly
finished and scheduled for a February release, solo projects
from Wise and Darkim, an instrumental album and releases from
the fame labs roster, 2007 marks the reign of the king.
